Eighteen Letters from a father to his daughter, by Joe Garrett
This book was over eighteen years
in the making. It started when the author wrote a short letter to his daughter on her first birthday, and continued with a letter on each subsequent birthday until she graduated from high school eighteen years later. He kept the letters in a box in the closet and did not reveal them until now.

This moving collection includes the eighteen letters, plus a few extras. Portions of the letters are deeply personal, but with each passing year, Garrett delved more into politics, philosophy, literature, history, etiquette, and generally how to get along in the world.

These letters contain a surprising assortment of insights and advice for daughters, sons, parents, and friends alike.
